What’s NewSCOAP in the NewsIf you missed it in the paper, please check out the recent profile of SCOAP in the Puget Sound Business Journal. SCOAP Medical Director, Dr. David R. Flum recently joined colleagues on KUOW's Weekday program to explore what measures are being taken locally to ensure quality patient health care. SCOAP Data Made PublicA new button was recently added to the website which provides access to SCOAP Data slides showing the first publicly released data on progress by SCOAP hospitals. SCOAP leadership and participating hospitals are currently working on ways to make more data available to the public that will be useful, understandable, and timely for patients seeking more information on quality improvement and process of care. Community of Practice (CoP)SCOAP continues to hold regional, face-to-face meetings of hospital staff, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the SCOAP Medical Director and Program Director in order to provide an opportunity for dialogue about the data reports as well as sharing opportunities for improvements in the care of surgical patients. Plans are currently underway for the 1st Annual Meeting. These meetings serve as a time to further establish an active, dynamic surgical Community of Practice (CoP). |
